John Wall scored 25 points, nine of them over the final 5:16 of regulation, to lead the Washington Wizards to a 117-109 home victory over the Orlando Magic .

The Wizards’ dynamic point guard started the final quarter on the bench but returned with 7:22 remaining and the score tied 94-94.

The five-time NBA All-Star initially jump-started his team’s offense with his passing, recording one assist on a 3-pointer by Jeff Green that gave the Wizards a 99-94 lead and then another on a running alley-oop dunk by Green that made the score 101-96.

Wall then took over the scoring load himself, making two field goals and getting to the free-throw line repeatedly.

He could have scored more points in the quarter had he not missed three of his eight attempts from the foul line down the final stretch of the game.

Shooting guard Bradley Beal added 21 points for the Wizards, while Green chipped in with 18 off the bench on Monday night at the Capital One Arena in Washington.

Reserve forward Terrence Ross led the Magic in scoring with 21 points.

The Wizards (4-9) have won three of their last five games after a 1-7 start, with Wall leading his team in scoring in each of those victories.

The Magic (6-8) had won four of five coming into Monday night’s contest.
