(Miguel Morenatti / AP)El Valencia ganó por 1-2 al Barcelona la final de la Copa del Rey en Sevilla y tocó de nuevo la gloria con un título once años después como broche de oro a su centenario tras superar con una defensa impecable y siendo letal en ataque a un cuadro azulgrana que se queda sin el récord de cinco copas seguidas.
Un gol del francés Kevin Gameiro, a los 21 minutos, y otro de Rodrigo Moreno, en el 33, pusieron por delante al descanso a los valencianistas, que demostraron una gran efectividad con su clásico juego de salir rápido a la contra ante un Barça apagado e inofensivo en el primer tiempo y que reaccionó tarde, con lo que sólo pudo acortar distancias en el 73 por medio de Leo Messi, su mejor hombre.
